Security beefed up at Barisal Airport

The authorities beefed up security measures in Barisal Airport yesterday morning, as in three international airports of the country the night before. Following intelligence warning, the government tightened security in the three international airports, officials sources concerned said. Earlier on Monday night, high officials of the administration and different law enforcing agencies visited the airport and held meeting. After the meeting, high security alert was announced here and visitors movement was restricted in specific area. More than 100 members of different law enforcing agencies were engaged in security duty with arms and metal detectors. They started conducting extra searches in entrance and departure points of the terminal. Md. Safiullah, security official of the airport, said additional teams of police were on patrol around the port round the clock to ensure safety and security of the passengers. Morsheda Begum and Md. Safiullah, security officials of the airport, said they were working to ensure security to everyone.
