A two-day international seminar on “Role of SAI (Supreme Audit Institution) as an Institution of Accountability" began yesterday with the participation of ten Asian countries who would share views on optimizing the role of their respective SIA in keeping authentic public accounts audits, reports BSS. Organised by Office of the Comptroller and Auditors General of Bangladesh is hosting the seminar where Auditor Generals of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan and the Philippines are taking part. High officials of Auditor General's office of India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Maldives are also attending the seminar. The participating 10 countries delegates will present their respective country paper in six separate business sessions. The Parliamentary Committee on Public Undertakings Chairman Shawkat Ali inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest while CAG Masud Ahmend was in the chair.
