Meter Readers and Bill Distributors of Power Development Board (PDB) Oikya Parishad of northern region formed a human chain at Satmatha in Bogra town yesterday morning demanding nationalisation of their job. The PDB staff said families of the employees have been living miserable life over the past 17 years. They have threatened to go for work stoppage if their demand is not met, leaders of the oikya parishad announced at the programme. A total of 546 meter readers and bill distributors of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, including Bogra, and their family members, took part at the programme, said Abul Hossain, president of meter readers and bill distributors of PDB Oikya Parishad of northern region committee. Later, the committee members went to the office of superintending engineer of Bogra Zone and submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister to press home their demand.
