Aga Khan School celebrates graduation, award giving ceremony
UNB, Dhaka
The graduation and award giving ceremony of the Aga Khan School, Dhaka for the academic year of 2018-19 was held in the city on Saturday.
Certificates were handed over to 62 graduating students of Grade 12 by Dr Dale Taylor, Principal, and Fahmida Chowdhury, Head of Secondary School.
During this years ceremony, the graduating class also included the students from the first cohort of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB-DP). Long-service awards were also handed over to employees serving from five to twenty-five years.
Prof Omar Rahman, vice-chancellor of the Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB), was present as the chief guest, said a press release.
Addressing the graduates, Prof Rahman deeply appreciated the high quality education offered by the Aga Khan School, Dhaka.
He advised the graduates to build their future by taking the time to explore options and avenues and underscored the need to be highly adaptable to the continuously fast changing world that they will be facing ahead in their career.
He emphasised that Bangladesh is developing fast and there are huge opportunities for the graduates to contribute to the continuing development of the country.
Principal Dr Dale Taylor emphasised the schools vision to enable students to balance life with the quest for knowledge and essential wisdom.
She also underscored the need to develop effective networks in the course of their further education and career, starting with developing a support system with their fellow alumni, teachers and the school community.
