CU BCL gets new committee   
UNB, Chattogram

The new committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League's Chittagong University (CU) unit was announced on Saturday night. Former vice-president Rezaul Haq Rubel and former publication and publicity secretary Iqbal Hossain Tipu were made president and general secretary of the new committee. The announcement was made through a media statement signed by Chhatra League's central President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon, and General Secretary Golam Rabbani.

1 gets death penalty for homicide
BSS, Sylhet

 A Court here yesterday awarded death penalty to a person for killing his elder brother in the Zakiganj Upazila under Sylhet district in 2017.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Aminul Islam passed the order in presence of convicted Jakir Hossain, son of Safiqul Haque of Kesri, Zakiganj.  According to the case statement, Jakir hacked to death his elder brother Kamal Hosain over a family discord on August 29, 2017.  The victim’s wife Jannatul Ferdous Rahena filed the case with Zakiganj thana accusing lone accused of the case Jakir Hossain.

Launching ceremony of State of Cities-2019 July 18
STAFF REPORTER, Dhaka

BRAC Institute of Governance and Development, BRAC University will organised the launching ceremony of the ‘State of Cities 2018: Water Governance in Dhaka’ on July 18 at 10am at the BRAC Centre Inn Auditorium in the capital Minister of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Md. Tazul Islam will present at the  event as the chief guest.
In this workshop, it will launch the report and share the key findings of its study related to Dhaka's water demand and supply, sustainability of the water sources as well as the quality of supplied water.
