University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh yesterday held a meeting with ProInd, an Indian-based software solutions company, for establishing a comprehensive Higher Education Management Information System (HEMIS) under the proposed World Bank sponsored Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) project, says a press release.
The draft ToR and feasibility of establishing a comprehensive HEMIS were broadly discussed in the meeting. Academic, non academic and general activities of all universities as well as UGC could be done through U-HEMIS & N-HEMIS. It will help to make their activities easier, dynamic and make their campus smart, said Harinder Sing, Director of ProInd.
Experts present at the meeting suggested to incorporate data analytics, block chain, artificial intelligence and other related issues for fourth industrial revolution in HEMIS.
UGC members Professor Dr Md Akhtar Hossain presided over the meeting. Professor Dr M Shah Nowaz Ali, Professor Dr Dil Afroza Begum, Professor Dr Md Sazzad Hossain; Professor Dr Mohammad Shahdat Hossain of University of Chittagong were present, among others.
