Bangladesh ODI and T20 skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza started practicing to be fit for the forthcoming home series against Zimbabwe after being recuperated fully from dengue fever.
He took part in gym session and later run at National Cricket Academy in the capital as per the guideline of Bangladesh team’s physio Baijadul Islam Khan.
About Mashrafe’s physical condition, Baijadul Islam said that he is optimistic about Mashrafe ahead of the home series.
“We, the doctor and physio, watched him yesterday after the end of the first circle of eight-day. All gave him clearance to practice. I personally talked with Mashrafe. He is mentally stronger but the remaining will be sorted out by toiling hard. He will gradually be fit,” said Baijadul Islam.
“Nine days has been elapsed after being released from hospital. The circle of blood has been shifted in eight. The next circle will be changed more in the next eight days. So, we don’t feel any risk for him,” he told media.
About Rubel Hossain, the team’s physio said that he is yet to start functional training to be fit.
“He has no possibility to fully recover from his side strain-injury. He was supposed to take less time to recover from his injury than Taskin and Shafiul, who are fit for the next games. But Rubel is yet to begin his functional practice,” Islam thought.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named the final Bangladesh-A squad for the tour of Zimbabwe 2015 with five new players.
A total of six players including Shabbier Bahaman, Soma Starker, Litton Kumar Dash, Al-Amen Hossain, Karol Islam Rabbi and Sober Hossain will return home after the warm-up tour of South Africa which ends with one-day matches against Northern (27 October) and Gating Strikers (October 29). Five replacements including Tasamul Hogue, Nurul Hasan Shoran, Name Islam, Dean Saber and Mehta Ali will join the squad for the Zimbabwe tour.
