A total of ten people were killed in separate road crashes in four districts yesterday. In Jamalpur, six people were killed and another injured as a speedy train hit a battery run auto-rickshaw at Nayanagar Digholbari level-crossing in Melandaha yesterday. The victims were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Hasu Miah, 25, his mother Jarina Khatun, 45, and his sister Brishti, 22, auto passengers Hasina, 25, and Chikna Gasi. In Jhenidah, two persons were killed on spot when a covered van hit a truck from backside near Srirampur on Kushtia-Jhenidah highway yesterday. The deceased were identified as truck driver Abdur Rahman, 40 and helper of the covered van Dalim Mia, 35. In Faridpur, a motorcyclist was killed and two others sustained injuries as a bus hit the motorcycle at Talmar Maniknagar in Nagarkanda upazila yesterday noon. The deceased was identified as Subhash Malo, 25, son of Ram Malo, a resident of Srinagar area of Boalmari upazila. In Narayanganj, a man was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Kosabo area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Rupganj upazila of the district yesterday morning.
