Jahurul back in BCB XI

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recalled national discard Jahurul Islam Omi for an invitational cricket tournament, scheduled to be held in Karnataka, India.

The wicketkeeper-batsman, who had been performing regular at domestic circuit, left Dhaka for Karnataka with the BCB XI led by Mominul Haque to play the tournament of Dr. (Capt) Thimmapiah All-India Memorial Tournament yesterday.

The four-dayer tournament will be evolved through the rules and regulations of the Ranji Trophy.

Splitting into four group, a total of 16 teams will take part in the meet, which will be played at Bangaluru and Mysore from July 10.

The experienced Jahurul said that he does not thinking about returning to the national team right away though he thinks the tournament as the platform of returning to the national fold.

He also said that Dhaka Premier League (DPL), National Cricket Lesgue (NCL), Banhladesh Cricket League (BCL) and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) might be the good platform for his return to the  fold.

So, he is focusing more on playing better cricket and going to India with a view to playing better brand of cricket.

“My main planning is to play better cricket in the tournament where 15 state's teams will also come to play whose each team is good,” said Jahurul Islam, who represented Bangladesh in international arc for the last time in 2013.

“Every tournament is a good platform for staging a comeback to the national side whether it is DPL or NCL or BCL or BPL,” Jahurul told media a day before their departure for Bangaluru, Karnataka.

“It'll be good for me if I could make runs for the team and contribute for the winning-cause,” he added.

The wicketkeeper-batsman does not regret for staying out of the national team so long.

He admitted that those who are now playing in the current national are enough capable. And so, he seeks to employ his utmost efforts to play better cricket.

“I don’t think about the national team right now. It would be better for me if I could perform well,” he said, adding that those who are currently playing for the Bangladesh team are good enough and capable more than me. In last edition of the DPL, he scored 735 runs from 15-match-road-string. He was fourth among the highest run-getter that actually helped him recall for playing in BCB's tournament.
