Rajshahi Jamaat ameer Hashem arrested

Plainclothes police arrested Rajshahi city Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Professor Dr Abul Hashem from Binodpur area of the city on Saturday night, reports UNB.
Family sources said a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police picked up the Jamaat ameer from his house in Binodpur area under Matihar Police Station when he returned from Dhaka at about 8:30 pm.
Assistant Commissioner of DB Sushanta Chandra Roy said he did not know anything about this.
Later contacted, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Shamsuddin confirmed the matter, saying Abul Hashem was arrested in connection with the killing of police constable Siddhartha Sarker.
