DB (Detective Branch) Police in a drive arrested two alleged drug peddlers along with 20,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets at Amirbag Residential Area under Chawkbazar police station early yesterday. The arrestees were identified as Alamgir and Ayub. “Conducting a drive three different rented houses, we have recovered 20,000 contraband yaba tablets and cash Tk80, 000. The arrestees’ had hidden the yaba tablets in sound boxes. They were supplying the yaba tablets from the rented houses, said Babul Akter, Additional Deputy Commissioner (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police.  The rents of the three houses were Tk21, 000, Tk28, 000 and Tk23, 000, added Babul Akter.
