The Parliamentary Committee on Public Undertakings yesterday recommended increasing gas fields and oil reserves in the country, reports BSS. The parliamentary body made the recommendation at its 19th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with Committee Chairman Shawkat Ali presiding, said an official release.
Committee members Muhibur Rahman Manik, M Nurul Islam Sujan, M Abdul Wadud, Abdur Rauf and Advocate Navana Aktar attended the meeting.
The JS body held discussions on the overall activities of Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (Bapex) under the ministry of energy and mineral resources.
The committee suggested settling audit objections of Bapex and Padma Oil Company Limited. It decided holding talks with the finance ministry so that all officials and employees of Bapex get pension after service. Senior officials concerned were present in the meeting.
