A total of 9,862 candidates out of 14,546 have passed the written test of the 38th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations. After holding a special meeting, Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) published the results on its website yesterday (Monday).
The written examination was held on August 13 last year. Earlier, on December 29, 2017, a number of 288,899 job seekers sat for the preliminary exam in the 38th BCS while 389,468 jobs seekers had applied against 2,024 posts. However, the results published nearly after a year.
About the delay in publishing the results, BPSC chairman Mohammad Sadique said that the publishing of written test results was delayed due to evaluating the scripts by third examiners. This is for the first time that the third examiners have evaluated the answer scripts, he said.
However, the BPSC authorities have increased number of posts in this BCS. The public administration ministry earlier sent a proposal to the BPSC in this regard. As per the proposal, 136 more people would be recruited in the 38th BCS.
