Students, teachers and employees of Dhaka University (DU) yesterday celebrated the 98th founding anniversary amid great enthusiasm and festivity. To celebrate the “Dhaka University Day”, the university authorities chalked out a series of programmes. The entire campus wore a festive look as well as different buildings of the university and dormitories were decorated with colourful lights, festoons and balloons. The students of DU brought out colourful processions from different residential halls of the university at 10:00am. DU VC Professor Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the programme at Mall-Chattar of the university in the morning. VC Akhtaruzzaman said, "This year DU Day will be celebrated as the arrival message of 'Mujibyear-2020' and 'University's Century Festival-2021'. Marking this two important benchmarks in order to ensure the quality of education, a realistic and science based schedule will be adopted."
