Pabna woman gives birth to conjoined twins

A woman gave birth to a pair of conjoined twins at a hospital in the district town on Sunday night.

Sonia Khatun, wife of Firoz Sheikh of Kadua village in Sujanagar upazila, was admitted to Jamuna Clinic on Sunday with labour pain.

She gave birth to the conjoined twins through cesarean section under the supervision of Dr Ismat Ara Popy, said hospital sources.

Later, the mother and the babies, joined from the belly—were sent to Pabna General Hospital for better treatment. Dr Ismat Ara Popy said it is possible to separate the conjoined twins through surgery.
