Four workers suffered burn injuries as an explosion took place in a room of Comfort Doctor's Chamber at Green Road in the capital yesterday. The injured are Mohammad Russel, 30, Foyez, 23, Sujon, 19, and Rakib, 22. Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said the four workers were doing decoration work in the room in the morning.
The explosion took place around 9am when one of the workers switched on an electric switch and the room went up in flames. Hearing the sound, nearby people rescued the workers and took them to the DMCH burn unit, police said. Resident medical officer at the burn unit Dr Partha Shankar Paul described the condition of the four workers as critical.
Of them, Russel suffered 62 per cent burns while Foyez 40 percent, Rakib 37 per cent and Sujon 18 per cent, he said.
