Tk 547cr RCC budget announced

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has announced a proposed budget worth around Taka 547.18 crore for 2019-2020 fiscal. RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton announced the annual budget at a press conference in Nagar Bhaban here yesterday afternoon. No new tax has been imposed in the budget.

Highlighting the overview of the ongoing and proposed development projects of the corporation he stated that the budget has been formulated for expanding civic services.

Mayor Liton, who announced the first annual budget of the present council, said the proposed budget for current 2018-19 was Taka 752.37 crore, which has been revised at Taka 324.89 crore.

At the press conference, the Mayor said six major projects on

infrastructure developments are being implemented at a total cost of around Taka 795.59 crore in the city. “We have planned eight more need-based projects with an estimated cost of around Taka 9,139.32 crore,” he added.
