Police have seized a bus in connection with severing of the right arm of college student Firoz Sardar in a road accident on Saturday. Golam Ruhul Kuddus, spokesperson of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said a team of police seized the bus of 'Mohammad Paribahan' from Shiroil Bus Terminal in the city on Saturday night . The bus usually plies the Rajshahi-Rangpur route but after the accident it was kept at the terminal to avoid seizure.
The bus driver and his helper went into hiding following the accident. On Friday, Firoz Sardar, a masters student of Rajshahi College and son of Mahfuzur Rahman of Nandigram in Bagura district, was seating at the bus after dangling his right arms in Katakhali area of the city. At one stage, another vehicle, coming from behind hit it, severing his hand from elbow.
He has been undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Nabaran Chandra Barman, officer-in-charge of Katakhali Police Station, said the driver of the bus was identified as Faruk of Puthia after scrutinising the close circuit camera, said police.
