Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three alleged drug traders with 1,160 yaba tablets from Satmatha Goalchattar area in the city on Thursday night. “A team of RAB-13 conducted a drive there, seized yaba tablets and arrested the drug traders from the spot at about 10:15 pm,” said a RAB press release said yesetrday.
The arrestees were Abdul Awal, 32, of village Sarderpara Badherpar in Chilmari upazila; Momin Islam, 21, of village Gorak Mandal in Fulbari upazila; and Minhajul Islam Mithu, 23, of village Bonbibhag in Chilmari upazila of Kurigram.
The elite force also seized four mobile phones, five SIM cards, two memory cards and Tk 2,230 in cash from their possession. RAB officials handed over them to Rangpur Kotwali Police Station today. A case was filed in this connection.
