Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a total of 62 people on charge of selling and consuming drugs in an anti-narcotic drive in the capital during 24 hours until 6am yesterday. The Detective Branch (DB) of the DMP and local police stations carried out the joint drive that started at 6 am on Thursday.
They seized 734 yaba tablets, 487 grams of heroin, 8,243 kilograms of hemp and 243 bottles of phensidyl during the drive, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman. A total of 39 cases were filed with different Police Stations under the Narcotics Control Act over the matter, he said.
