State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak recently observed the advancement of Digital Sylhet City Project taken by Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC).
Under this project for the first time in the country, Face Recognition and Automatic Number-plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras are being installed in Sylhet City Corporation areas.
A monitoring room has been constructed at Kotowali Model Police Station in Sylhet to control these special IP cameras. Sylhet Metropolitan Police will be in charge of controlling this latest security system. This robust technology will help police to identify suspected persons and vehicles.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Bangladesh Computer Council and Sylhet Metropolitan Police regarding this project.
After signing ceremony, Zunaid Ahmed Palak visited Kotwali Police Station to observe the project progress of this artificial intelligence based IP cameras.
