Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)-High Performance (HP) squad will play a two- day practice match against Bangladesh ‘A’ team on June 27-28.
The BCB will soon announce Bangladesh A team for the imminent home series against their Afghanistan counterparts, who are due to arrive here on July 1.
The second string Bangladesh team will begin their training in Dhaka on June 18.
The practice match between the teams will be played at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium (KSOAS) in Fatullah following their three-day match scenario practice sessions on June 19, 20 and 21 respectively.
As of now, the squad under the BCB's exclusive training programme from May 21 to September 23, has been doing their practice under the supervision of the head coach Simon Helmot along with other local and overseas coaches.
The squad has been formed with the mix of the best performers of the domestic cricket leagues and competition, the players whom are under 23. This time the HP squad has been formed for the first time in different way keeping the Emerging ACC Teams Asia Cup in mind.
Arranged by the BCB, the squad is scheduled to make their maiden tour to Sri Lanka in August.
Regarding this tour, AEM Kawsar, senior national manager of the BCB Games Development, said that they will tour to Sri Lanka in July on the basis of getting security clearance.
“Our High Performance (HP) team will travel to Sri Lanka in August. They will play two four-day matches coupled with three one-day matches,” AEM Kawsar said.
