No fracture found on Mushfiq’s forearm

BSS, DHAKA

Bangladesh heaved a huge sigh of relief after an X-ray report revealed that Mushfiqur Rahim had no fracture on his forearm.

Mushfiqur, considered as the most dependable batsman of the country, got hit on his right forearm during a batting practice session while facing a bouncer from pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman.

He left the ground immediately after being hit and was administered by ice on his injured place in the dressing room.

The injury seemed not to be serious but still he was taken into hospital for an X-ray as a pre-caution measure. As the X-ray revealed nothing serious, he can take part in Bangladesh’s crucial match against West Indies on Monday  at Taunton.

Mushfiqur’s service is imperative for Bangladesh, considering that he is only batsman other than Shakib Al Hasan who remains consistent in this World Cup. The diminutive batsman was the highest scorer for Bangladesh in their first match against South Africa with 80 ball-78 and he also scored a

valuable 44 runs against England.

Mushfiqur’s injury scare indeed extended the list of injured players, who was playing through the tournament with some sort of pain. Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was struggling with hamstring issues since the beginning of the World Cup while Shakib Al Hasan sustained a left thigh muscle strain.

No fracture was found on x-ray and Shakib is declared fit to play. Tamim also got hit in the same area before their first World Cup match against South Africa.
