Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque yesterday assured the Hindu community that the strictest security measures have already been taken so that they can celebrate Durga Puja in a befitting manner, reports UNB.
The IGP’s reassurance came while he was exchanging Puja greeting with Hindus at Ram Krishna Mission in the city’s Hatkhola on Wednesday evening.
The IGP also asked them to celebrate their religious festival without any fear or hindrance, as the people have been enjoying communal harmony within Bangladesh’s democratic dispensation.
Later talking to journalists, the IGP said ‘remarkable developments’ in the investigations into the two much talked-about foreigner killings.
