SYLHET: Finance Minister AMA Muhith yesterday said the present government is committed to ensuring co-existence of all religions where people will practice their own religions freely and peacefully, reports BSS.
He said this while visiting the puja mandap at Malnichhara tea garden. Muhith also visited puja mandaps at Lakkatura tea garden, Kalibari, Bagbari and Kazalshah. He exchanged greetings with the members of Hindu community.
Muhith said the country is progressing fast with maintaining communal harmony. He urged the members of Hindu community to remain alert so that none can foil communal harmony in Bangladesh. “We want to ensure co-existence of all religions and want to share joys among ourselves,” he added.
Sylhet city Awami League president and former Sylhet City Corporation mayor Badar Uddin Ahmad Kamran, district unit Awami League general secretary Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, city Awami League general secretary Asad Uddin and deputy commissioner of Sylhet Joynal Abedin accompanied the minister.
