Rituals of �Saptami� held

‘Saptami’, one of the rituals of the Durga Puja, was performed by the members of Hindu community with great enthusiasm yesterday.
According to Hindus belief, the ritual is performed to get rid of difficulties and to keep away the ‘Asur’ the demon that brings troubles. Thousands of devotees from Chowmuhani, Feni, Laxmipur, Comilla and Choddagarm thronged the puja mandaps to perform the ritual.
In Chowmohani town the authority of some Puja Mandap said artisans came here to build the best idols. In some mandaps they have used digital technology and laser lights to show the Goddess Durga emerging from the depth of the sea to destroy the ‘Asur.’
The laser show is drawing the attention of thousands of devotees who are thronging at the venue everyday. Babu Binoy Kishore, Pandit of a puja mandap said Astami or Kumari Puja will be celebrated on today at 157 puja Mandaps.  In Chowmohani town, Mongala, Bijoya , Radha Madab, Mohamaha are beigest temple.
The rituasls “Amantron” and “Adhibas” of Goddess Durga to mark the Shashthi were held  earlier.
The festival will come to an end with the emersion of the images of Goddess Durga in water bodies on Friday.
