The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested food controller of Naogaon Sadar Upazila Mohammad Ali red-handed yesterday in the act of taking bribe from a person, reports UNB.
An 8-member team of ACC’s Rajshahi Office, led by its assistant director Rezia Khatun, conducted a raid at Naogaon Sadar Food Office and arrested Mohammad Ali while he was he was taking bribe, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.
He said the owner of Sowrab Rice Mill went to local food office to withdraw security money of his rice mill, but Mohammad Ali demanded Tk 50,000 as bribe. The rice mill owner informed it to ACC local office.
As discussed with the ACC officials, he went to the Food Office again to give the bribe money to the food controller.
And when the mill owner handed over the money to Mohannad Ali, the ACC team arrested him instantly.
