5 of a ‘robber gang’ arrested

Detectives arrested five suspected members of a robber gang from Mohammadpur area in the city on Saturday night. The arrestees are - Md Nasir Sarder, 22, Md Kamal Madbar, 23, Md Shaheed Bepari, 35, Md Monirul Islam, 18, and Md Mahbub Mia, 30. “Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB's Serious Crime Investigation Division raided a house around 10:50pm as the gang was preparing to commit robbery,” said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman. Detectives arrested the five robbers and recovered three knives and two sharp weapons from their possession.
