Superintendent of Khagrachhari police Abdul Majid has opened a help desk for counselling justice seekers and reducing the number of cases. He said a team of police, led by a women police officer, has been put on duty at the desk to receive allegation and issue notices. The SP said this at a views-exchange meeting with UNDP representative yesterday afternoon. He said many justice seekers want to get legal remedy through a mediator, but sometime they have tested bitter experiences due to biasness of the mediator. He urged the visiting team to help the establish rule of law in the country and serve people at their expectation. Deputy Project Director UNDP-CHTDF Prasenjit Chakma has given assurance for technical and other supports aiming to make police services upgraded.
