147 govt primary school bldgs ‘risky’ in Jashore

The Jashore district primary education department has announced 147 government primary school buildings, among a total of 1,285 such educational institutions, as risky in the district.

Owing to the dilapidated conditions of these buildings, accidents may happen anytime in these schools.

Besides, the primary education department has termed 41 government primary schools in eight upazilas of the district as "most risky" .

These schools are located in Ullashi, Shivbasalakona, Navaran Rail Bazar, Balunda, Baguriakota, Subarnakhali, Dhanakhora, Goga Kaliani, Shakharipota, Basatpur Colony, Porabari, Khalsi, Nattadiagha Dubpara, Amalai, Barinarayanpur, Lokhanpur, Saratola, Gopalpur, Bagori, Goga, Kalyani North, Mahishah, Baguri, Raghabpura, Bugachra, Baridadaha, Jadunathpur, Narayanpur natunapara, Dhanyakhora north, Sarbanhuda, , Krishnapur, Keralakhali, Kanaikhali, Paruikhupi, Daulatpur,   Gogasakharipota, Setai,  Bugachra mathpara and Basatpur.

In the Sadar upazila, 18 schools are at risk. They were TKG Sammilani, Deora, Malanchi, Chaulia Janata, Arpara, Madhugram, AFMB, Ramkrishna Ashram, Adera, New Khairtola, Ghop Sebasanga, Dhumdia, Talbaria, Shelom Pur, Srikontha Nagor, Nangore pur, Saraidanga and Shantola government primary schools.

Three risky Government primary schools are in Abhoynagore  upazila. They are: Puratal, 4 No Arpara and Prembagh government primary schools.

Four risky government  primary Schools are  in Keshabpur upazila. They are: Gaurighona Inadumoti, Sreerampur, Sanayshgacha and East Boushal primary schools.

Twelve such risky primary schools are in Chaugachha upazila.

They are   Hogoldanga, Patibilla, Motsharanga, Bergobindopur, Sarupdah, Tangurpur, Kuranga, Ballavpur, Rajapur, Ramkrishnapur, Mirzapur Madhapara and Chandra Para primary schools.

There are 25 such educational instituions in Jhikorgacha upazila. They are: Dohor magura, Nabagram, Gangadharpur, Tawra Uttarpara, Kullah, Haridrapota, Deoli Navaron, Raghunanagore, Matikumara, Sharifpur,  Sarathi, Kundopur, Rajardumuria, Kanai Rali, Nobinagore, Haryadeara, Hajirali, Mathshia, Ashingri, Bakulia, Khorusha, Atlia, Khoshal Nagor, Baliadanga and Gonganandapur primary schools.

Fifteen such schools in Bagerpara upazila are in Baharampur, Khetrapala, Habullah, Charavita, Karimpur, West Paikpara, Joyrampur, PTM Naricalbaria, Dhalgram, Baulia, Mamudalipur, Azmeherpur, Jadevpur, Daspakhia and Dayarampur.

Twenty nine such risky primary schools are in Monirampur upazila. They are in Uttarpara,Bramondanga, Subolkati, Nauli, Horina, Kushkhali, Vojgati, Madonpur, Shapur, Nangurahat, Lauri, Mobarakpur, Lauri Ramnagore, Bolianpur, Bhatbilla, Khal bhatbilla, Kaminidanga, Uttar Lauri, Protapkathi, Hakimpur, Ramnagore, Majlauri, Kalokakuli, Humatola, Joynagore, Baropara, Kuchlia,  Delua bati, Goal bari and Gobindapur Uttarpara.

Shafiqul Islam, headmaster of Madanpur Government Primary School in Manirampur upazila, said that his school was in danger for the last four to five years. "On several occasions, plaster fell of from the roof of the building. I submitted written complaints to the district education officer regarding this situation, but to no avail," he added.

Jashore district primary education officer Sheikh Ohidul Alam said that under the directive of the primary and mass education ministry, 147 government primary school buildings in eight upazilas had been identified as risky in the district.  The list has already been sent to the ministry, he added.
