RANGPUR: Right to food and food security must be ensured as a prerequisite for ensuring human rights for every citizen everywhere around the globe, reports BSS. NGO executives expressed the opinion at a views-sharing meeting organised by district unit of Right to Food Bangladesh (RFB), a network of development organisations, at Begum Rokeya auditorium in the city on Monday afternoon. Convener of Rangpur district unit of RFB and Programme Manager (Field Coordination) of RDRS Bangladesh Marina Ahmed presided over the meeting participated by executives, officials and representatives of 20 member NGOs. The event was arranged in observance of the World Food Day-2015 with the theme of 'Social Protection and Agriculture: Breaking the Cycle of Rural Poverty.' The speakers called for ensuring supply of pure foods at reasonable price, stop adulteration and attaining sustainable self- sufficiency in food through innovation and adoption of time- befitting agri-technologies consistent with changing climate.
