Bangladesh (CPB) yesterday demanded the formation of a National Minimum Wage Board for ill-paid working class people of the country, reports UNB.
In a joint statement, CPB president Mujahidul Islam Selim and general secretary Syed Abu Jafar Ahmed expressed a deep concern over the hikes in the salaries of the President, Prime Minister, Speakers, Chief Justice, Ministers and MPs, saying this decision will have an adverse effect on the lives and livelihood of the poor and working class people.
The statement also said government has increased the salary of only 21 lakh government officials and employees among a total workforce of 6 crore, so huge majority of the people remain neglected.
