Aminul Islam’s unbeaten 92 and Mahmudul Hasan’s 81 guided Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Under-17 team to score 273-6 against visiting Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) at close on the first day of the fourth and last 3-dayer at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar yesterday.
The home side opted to bat first after winning the toss and lost their opener Sojibul Islam cheaply inside 1.5 overs. Mahmudul Hasan made a strong resistant with his fellow batsmen.
Hasan shared 101 runs with Ratul Khan, who fell for 35, for the second wicket and hit another 44-run for the third wicket with Aminul Islam before being caught behind. He smashed 12 boundaries as many as three sixes in his 101-ball 81.
After the exit of Hasan, skipper Aminul Islam took the rudder on his shoulder and kept alive the momentum. Together with Shamim Patwari, who slammed the credible double century for the hosts in the previous match, struck a 59-run for the fourth wicket stand, which crossed the 200-run mark.
Patwari chipped in with 26 off 64, clobbering three fours and one six, while BCB were batting on 206.
