Stock market maintained steady rise for the second straight session yesterday, with all the indices ending marginally higher on rising transaction, reports BSS.
DSEX - the broader index at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) - ended the day 13.01 points up at 4657.65 when the blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES finished higher at 1766.85 and 1115.52 respectively.
Like Monday, majority of the issues traded at DSE closed higher. Among the day’s 319 traded securities, 166 gained when 104 issues incurred loss.
The daily activities also rose when the trade value and volume were up marginally to Tk 399.16 crore and 9.05 crore shares accordingly.
The top five gaining issues were SPCL, KDS Accessories, FEKDIL, Shasha Denim and Amman Feed. The major losers were 3rd ICD, Midas Finance, Rahima Food, Samata Leather and Anwar Galvanising. Among the top five market leaders were Lafarge Surma, MHSML, Beximco Pharma, Aman Feed and SPCL.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also showed steady rise yesterday, with its CSCX index closing 41.26 points higher at 8655.37. Out the day’s traded 236 issues, 134 closed higher and 69 lower when some 87 lakh shares changed hands for Tk 29.89 crore.
