Bangladesh once again are going to host ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup-2019, starting November 12.
Last time Bangladesh in 2017 organised all the Asian competition, revived by Asian Cricket Council (ACC) after a long-hiatus. It was unanimously decided at ACC meeting that Bangladesh will be the host nation in the 2017 edition. Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar hosted all the group matches, while Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram arranged the semi-final and final matches. Sri Lanka clinched the title thrashing Pakistan by five wickets.
Therefore, Pakistan and Sri Lanka jointly hosted the 2018 meet. This time the number of the teams will be remained the same as before. Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan along with Oman, Hong Kong and UAE will take part in the eight-team tournament. But Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to finalise the venue for the two week-long-meet.
Bangladesh will form their team with the players of the High Performance programme. BCB called 23 young players whose age under 23 for the four-month-long HP programme.
Regarding the squad, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Games Development senior national manager AEM Kawsar said that they have two different targets around their High Performance (HP) team.
“Our main target around the HP camp is to amend the problems of the players by the specialist coaches for the upcoming domestic cricket season as well as the international games. As its continuation, the practice session will go on till September,” said AEM Kawsar.
“Out another target is that Emerging Teams Asia Cup will be held in between November 12-25 in our country. For this, we’ve to form team through HP. Our HP team has a scheduled tour to Sri Lanka in August. If the overall situation of the islands nation is good and if our board thinks the tour is safe, we’ll then tour there, where we’ve plans to play two four-dayers and three one-day matches,” Kawsar told The Independent.

The performance Bangladesh showcased in the triangular series in Ireland as of now if they can replicate it in Cricket World Cup (CWC) in United Kingdom (UK), it would obviously be brought better…
