Zhilik sings to final tune of Subir Nandi

Young popular singer Zanita Ahmed Zhilik sang for the first time to the tune of recently-demised Ekushey Padak-winning singer and musician Subir Nandi in 2008. These two songs, ‘Jharnar Pani’ written by Shabnam Islam and ‘Akasher Baire’ written by Kabir Bokul, were featured in her first album titled ‘Amar Ki Doosh’ that was released in the same year.

For the last time, a few months ago before he died, Subir Nandi tuned yet another song for Zhilik titled ‘Chander Sone Man Korechi’. Written by Mahmud Murad, the music arrangement of the song is done by Ujjal Sinha. Zhilik has recently lent her vocal to the song as well as the making of a music video with the song is currently underway. The song will be released on a YouTube Channel during the upcoming Eid, Zhilik informed.

Zhilik said about the song, “Subir Nandi sir was a great artiste of our music arena. His untimely demise is a big loss for all of us. It’s not possible to recover this huge damage caused by the departure of such a star. Sir adored me a lot. I was fortunate enough that he tuned two songs for my first album. These songs will always remain as an ornament of my singing life.”

“Sir (Subir Nandi) tuned another song for me before his demise. The work of that song is also almost complete. I hope this song will also remain as one of my exclusive songs in my life. Sir will always be regarded as my inspiration throughout my entire life,” Zhilik said about her new song which was tuned by Subir Nandi.

Meanwhile, a new song of Zhilik titled ‘Halka Halka Brishti’ has been released on YouTube recently. Written by Abul Hossain and tuned by Mohammad Milon, the music arrangement of the song has been done by MMP Roni.
