Police in separate drives arrested two members of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), including a close associate of Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai, its executed second-in-command, from Raninagar and Manda upazilas on Sunday and yesterday, reports UNB from Naogaon. The arrestees were identified as Kazi Mozaffar Hossain, 55, a suspected associate of Bangla Bhai and son of Chan Mohammad in Adamdighi upazila of Bogra district and Abul Kalam Azad, 48, son of Ismail Hossain of Paroil village in Manda upazila. Tipped off, a team of police of Raninagar Police Station arrested Mozaffar from Raninagar bus stand around 9:30 pm on Sunday, said Abdul Latif Khan, officer-in-charge of Raninagar Police Station. Mozaffar was a charge-sheeted accused in Jubo League leader Idris Ali Khejur killing case and is now working for forming another militant outfit after securing bail from the court, said the OC. Meanwhile, police, in another drive, arrested Abul Kalam Azad from his house in Paroil village in Manda upazila on Monday morning, said Mostafa Kamal, officer-in-charge of Naogaon DB police.
