European University of Bangladesh (EUB) conceded a seven-wicket defeat to Delhi’s Swami Shraddhanand College (SSC) in the first Group-A match of the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy in Dehradun, India yesterday.
The local SSC team won the toss and sent the visiting EUB to bat, who were skittled out for paltry 46 in 15 overs. Al Amin topscored for the visitors with 21 not out. No other batsmen surpassed double figure mark. Of them, five including three top-order batsmen sent back with naught. Abhishek Vats and Harshit Kaushik took three wickets apiece, while Hitesh Gemini claimed a brace for the local side.
The home side chased down the target in seven overs at the cost of just three wickets. Nitesh Lochab Rohan topscored for the winners with 18. Rathi remained unbeaten on 14. Lakshay Thareja was one not out.
