The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) yesterday pressed charges against eleven accused of killing Kabir Hossain Palash, vice-president, Jessore district unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student wing of BNP.
The JCD leader was shot dead at a tea stall near the district court in Jessore town at around 6:30pm on December 9, 2013. The victim’s sister Farhana Yeasmin filed a case with Kotwali police station on December 13 in this connection.
AKM Faruk Hossain, the investigating inspector, submitted the charge-sheet at the Jessore court against the 11.
They are Tariqul Islam of Shastitala in Jessore town, Shahidul Islam of Bahrampur village under Bagharpara upazila, Jahidul Islam of Garikhana Road in Jessore town, Prince alias Bihari Prince of Raipara of Chansra area in Jessore town, Sazal of Baira in Khulna city whose present address is Kharki Schoolpara in Jessore town, Rabiul Sheikh of Ghope Boubazar area in Jessore town, Faisal Gazi of TB Clinic area in Jessore town, Shahidul Islam alias Saidul of Rail Gate area in Jessore town, Al- Masud Rana, owner of Asha Enterprise on Mujib Sadak in Jessore town, Tutul Bapari, a resident near Mahmudur Rahman School of Ghope area in Jessore town and Abdur Razzak Fakir of Purba Barandipara in Jessore town.
According to the statement, they killed the JCD leader following feud over dropping a tender.
Of the accused, Tutul and Abdur Razzak are absconding.
