Theatre troupe Batighar will stage the 14th show of its latest production titled ‘Radcliffe Line’ today at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital. Written and directed by Muktonil, the play ‘Radcliffe Line’ is the theatre troupe’s 8th production.
The play portrays how an imaginary line between two nations influence people and their humanity. The play centres around an imaginary encounter between two soldiers of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India, while chasing a cow from opposite sides of the Radcliffe Line, which divides Bangladesh and India. The soldiers find a tunnel under the border fence and find each other in the tunnel starts to fight. However, as they grow tired of fighting, they begin a conversation and finds out the similarity between them.
The play casts Khalid Hasan Rumi, Smaran Biswas, Shishir Sarkar and Sanjoy Halder in different roles.
