The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two suspected members of banned militant group Hizb-ut-Tahrir Bangladesh from Sreepur upazila on Tuesday. The arrestees were identified as Hamid Siraji, 33, son of Suruzzaman Sheikh of Sirajganj; and Osama Fazle, 29, son of Abu Hena Fazle Elahi of Dhanmondi.
Tipped off, a team of RAB-1, led by Lt Commander Abdullah Al-Mamun, raided the house of one Delwar in the afternoon and arrested them. Twenty-three Jihadi books, a notebook and a mobile phone were also seized, RAB said in a press release yesterday. RAB said Siraji and Fazle worked as ‘think tanks’ and financers of the group.
