The baby girl, who was found from the bathroom of Child Hospital, has been taken to Shishumoni Nibash yesterday. Poly Begum and Russel Mahmud, who appeared as the parents of the child handed over her to the Nibash.
They name of the child is “Gohin.” The hospital authorities said the infant was handed over to Shishunibash in Azimpur after proper treatment. Earlier, on May 14 the two-day old new born was found from a toilet in Dhaka’s Shishu Hospital. The child was admitted to the same hospital in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar after being found.
Relatives of patients at the hospital found the infant lying in the toilet and informed the ward master. Dr Farid Ahmed, acting director of Dhaka Shisu Hospital, told the media that a general dairy (GD) was lodged regarding this matter.
“We given treatment to her and now she is fine. There is no way to keep her in the hospital. So it will be decided as per law,” he said. However, Police failed to find her parents and later they decided to hand over the baby to Shishumoni Nibash.
Police and doctors said that they received a number of phone calls from people interested in adopting the newborn baby girl.
