Mobile court led by Manisha Ahmed, administrative magistrate of district administration, in separate drives yesterday fined five business houses Tk 17,000 at the city’s Rupatali and Hemayetuddin Road areas.
The fined business enterprises are: Haoladar Restaurant Tk 5000, two meat shops Tk 5,000 at kitchen market and a fruit trader Tk 1,000 at Rupatali area.
In the afternoon the court also fined Hotel Al Jamiya of Hemayetuddin Road Tk 6,000.
The actions were taken for violating Consumer Rights Act and health standard, selling date expired products, said Syed Enamul Huq, sanitary inspector of Barishal City Corporation, who accompanied the court.
