A woman and her son were found dead in Naldanga upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased were identified as Halima Akter, 25, wife of Mahamul Islam Munna and their two-year-old son Abdullah. Munna works at a garment factory in Dhaka.
Locals found the door locked from outside in the morning and saw Halima’s body lying in the house in Bashila Uttarpara.
“Halima was strangled,” said Shafiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Naldanga Police Station. Abdullah’s body was recovered from a pool near the house. Police said they suspect that miscreants murdered the duo sometime at night.
The motive behind the killing could not be known immediately.
