A court here on Monday deferred for another term hearing on the blogger Ananta murder case. The Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court fixed November 4 for next hearing as the documents of the case did not reach the court from Sylhet Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court. Judge Anwarul Haque of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court deferred the hearing as documents of the case did not reach the court, said Bijon Chandra Das, GRO of the court. Earlier on October 4, the case was deferred for the same reason. In the last week of September, the case docket was not sent to the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court from Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-2 as a ‘miss case’ was filed by an accused, Mohimen Noman, with the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court following rejection of his bail prayer by the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court-2. Police so far arrested nine people in the case. On May 12, blogger Ananta Bijoy Das, also an activist of Sylhet Ganajagaran Manch, was hacked to death by a group of assailants at Subidbazar in the city.
