Probe report in bomb attack case against Khaleda June 20

A court here yesterday morning set June 20 to submit probe report in a case lodged over carrying out bomb attack on a procession against BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and 13 others.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Debdas Chandra Adhikari set the date as the investigation officer (IO) failed to submit the report yesterday.
The case was filed against 14 people including Khaleda Zia, Selima Rahman and Khandaker Mahbub Hossain for carrying out the attack on the procession of Muktijoddha Parishad in capitals Gulshan area on February 16, 2015.
The procession led by then Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan had attempted to lay siege to BNP chairpersons office, and the miscreants hurled bombs at the march.
Graft case trial to continue against Moudud
UNB, Dhaka
The Appellate Division yesterday cleared way for continuing a corruption case trial against BNP leader Moudud Ahmed. A Bench, headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, upheld a High Court Division order that rejected a petition by Moudud seeking a stay on the case proceedings.
The Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case on September 16, 2007 with Gulshan police. Moudud is accused of having Tk 7.38 crore in undisclosed property and concealing information about Tk 4.4 crore.
The case is currently being heard by the special Judge Court-6. Charges were framed against the BNP leader on June 21 last year.
