A people’s investigation committee was formed yesterday to probe the allegations of question paper leak in this year’s medical and dental college admission tests, reports UNB.
Eminent economist Prof Anu Muhammad has been made convener of the 17-member body. The probe body will come up with its report by November 20.
During investigation, the committee will hold a public hearing at Dhaka University’s TSC on October 30, collect evidence on the leak allegation, talk to protesters and evaluate the question formulation and admission test procedure.
The committee members include Barrister Sara Hossain, Barrister Jyotirmoy Borua, noted columnist Syed Abul Maksud, IT expert Fida Huq, Dr Fazlur Rahman, M Inamul Huq, vocalist Mahmuduzzaman Babu and Dhaka University teacher Geeti Ara Nasreen, Tanjimuddin Khan and Samina Lutfa.
Addressing a press conference at the TSC on Monday, Anu Muhammad said people have the right to take actions whenever the government fails to deliver.
The medical admission seekers have been on a movement since September 18 seeking cancellation of the admission tests and taking fresh tests alleging question paper leak.
On September 20, the results of MBBS and BDS admissions with a pass rate of 58.4 percent were published. The pass rate in 2014 was 34 percent.
