Four, held on trafficking charge, released

A Dhaka court yesterday granted bail to four employees of NGO ‘Adamya Bangladesh Foundation’ in a case filed on charge of human trafficking.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Yousuf Hossain passed the order and released Arifur Rahman, Jakia Sultana, Firoz Alam Khan and Hasibul Hasan on bail after police submitted the final report in the case.
Earlier, on September 12, police in a drive rescued 10 children from a flat in the city’s Banasree area and arrested the four in a case filed by an uncle of one of the children on charge of human trafficking.
However, the arrestees claimed themselves as employees of ‘Adamya Bangladesh Foundation’ NGO which gives shelter to street children.
On September 13, the court placed the four people on a two-day remand. The police also claimed that the NGO do not have a registration to operate.
