Sir,
The truth that some large hearted human beings exist in society amidst many selfish, callous, dishonest and inhuman people has been proved through the traffic constable Md. Monir Hossain’s rescuing the eight year old boy from drowning in the Nimtala canal of Chittagong.
As per the recent news report of a daily, a huge crowd of people was playing the role of onlookers while the boy was about to drown . Just at that moment Md. Monir Hossain , a police constable in the Traffic Department of Chittagong Metropolitan Police on his way to official duty became curious about the crowd and as soon as he realized the reason of the people’s gathering there, he jumped into the stinky, filthy water of the canal and rescued the boy risking his own life. We appreciate Monir Hossain from our hearts for his great sacrificing and altruistic effort in saving the life of the boy.
Along with the appreciation, we also urge the appropriate government departments to arrange cautionary measures around canals, rivers, lakes or any water body which are within the jurisdiction of authorities concerned so that untoward incidents like this can be avoided.
