The Election Commission yesterday dismissed Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL) chief Kader Siddiqui’s appeal against the cancellation of his nomination for the Tangail-4 by-polls. Siddique and his wife Nasrin Siddique’s nominations were cancelled for defaulting on repayment of loans. His lawyer said they would challenge the decision in court. Earlier on October 13, the returning officer cancelled four nomination papers, including those of Kader Siddique and his wife Nasrin Siddique. The nomination of Kader Siddique was cancelled as he is a defaulter in a loan of Tk 10 crore 88 lakh 26 thousand of Agrani Bank Limited. The nomination of his wife, Nasrin, has been cancelled on the same ground.
